Martin Stevens - Partner
Martin qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and became a Partner in the firm in 2000. He heads our Litigation department.
Martin’s area of speciality is Employment Law, acting for both employer or employee. He has acted in a wide range of claims in the Employment Tribunal. Recent claims have included disability discrimination, sex discrimination, age discrimination and unfair and constructive dismissal.
As well as drafting Contracts of Employment, Service Agreements and staff handbooks, Martin also provides day to day advice to employers on all aspects of Employment Law, such as disciplinary matters, redundancy procedures, termination packages, confidential information and the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
Martin is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association.
Martin also undertakes Personal Injury claims and other commercial litigation.
Outside work, Martin enjoys spending time with family, friends and playing football.

Marcus Self - Solicitor
Marcus did his undergraduate degree in law at the University of Warwick, before travelling in South East Asia and Australia. He went to Nottingham Law School to study for his Legal Practice course in 2005 and then worked as a Paralegal in London at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
He enjoys travelling and movies. Marcus has supported Blackburn Rovers FC for over 15 years.

Andrea Hamlin - Solicitor
Andrea Hamlin studied law at the University of Birmingham before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London. Andrea joined Hallett and Co in September 2007 and qualified as a solicitor in September 2009. In her spare time Andrea enjoys dance classes and aerobics.

Deborah Farrant - Trainee Solicitor
Deborah went to school locally at Ashford Girls School before completing her law degree at the University of East Anglia where she captained the law school sports teams. She undertook her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Bloomsbury and obtained a distinction. Deborah became a trainee in 2008 and is currently undertaking her seat in the litigation department.
Outside of work, Deborah is a keen skier and horse rider, she enjoys travelling and on her gap year spent 3 months in South East Asia and a month in India.
